Self-contained accommodation in Dunedin, New Zealand

At Fantail Lodge we welcome you to our two environmentally-friendly cottages which are tucked away amongst the trees in our lush harbour-side garden.

Our holiday cottages are located on the Otago Peninsula, in Dunedin. The cottages are great for couples but we can also accommodate small families.

Both cottages have private bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens making them comfortable and homely for short and long stays. Bellbird cottage has the luxury of an outdoor private spa pool. In Broad Bay on the Otago Peninsula we are surrounded by walking tracks, beaches, bays and islands to be explored on foot, bicycle or kayak. Dunedin’s city centre as well as all the wildlife and attractions of the Otago Peninsula are a short drive from Fantail Lodge: Larnach Castle, the Royal Albatross Centre, penguins, fur seals, sea lions and secluded beaches.

We, Tessa and Vic, have been welcoming guests to our accommodation in Dunedin for over 20 years. We are always happy to share recommendations regarding local attractions and wildlife.

Like Larnach Castle with it's beautiful building and gardens, Albatross Sanctuary. Sandfly Bay to watch sea lions and after a long day of sight seeing a soak in the spa."

"Hidden behind large trees we drove up to our lodge named Bellbird. Vic & Tessa greeted us and showed us our little hide out for two nights. And what a great treat: a private jacuzzi! A beautiful garden surrounds the two lodges. You feel like you are in a small private world."
